Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, is a brain based therapy, that is informed by the latest neuroscientific research. The first key element of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is that there is no need to go into your past, it simply concentrates on the present and the future.

The second  key element of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is that it uses neuroscientific research to provide a better understanding of how the brain processes subconscious information. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is essentially a talking therapy that combines psychotherapy, neuro linguistic programing and hypnosis. Hypnosis is the natural harnessing of focused attention. As a technique, it is  gentle relaxing and natural.

Hypnosis works by tapping into the subconscious mind and then entering into a trance state which is done by guided relaxation. This enables the mind to relax and focus on thoughts and suggestions that promote positive change.

Trance is a safe and very natural state, for us to be in. During our daily lives we naturally drift in and out of trance many times a day. It’s a bit like being in a daydream. The trance part is a very relaxing technique that creates a feeling of deep rest allowing you to dream with focus and direction. Whilst in trance you’ll engage the subconscious mind to conduct an inner rehearsal for transforming your goals into reality.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, uses well researched practical and structured techniques that empower people to make positive changes in their lives relatively quickly.

After the initial consultation, each subsequent session is split into two parts, the psychotherapy part and the trance part (hypnosis).

The session begins with the psychotherapy part, which involves a conversation about what you want to change in your life. You will need to be in a quiet and private space where you won’t be interrupted for the duration of your session. For this first part of the session, most people sit in a comfortable chair at a table or desk. For the second part of the session which is the trance part, most people find somewhere comfortable to lie down. This can be on a bed, sofa, or on the floor with a yoga mat.

After the trance we conclude with your feedback on the experience and check your  general progress.

All sessions take place over the video conferencing platform zoom. This means you don’t lose precious time travelling to the session. Instead, you can relax in the comfort and convenience of your home.
